Maintenance Supervisor (1805740) – Geismar, LA Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for the safe, quality, and cost-effective execution of maintenance work in all maintenance areas. In this role, you will direct the activities of BASF and contract employees while removing barriers to facilitate work execution productivity, for Routine, Turnaround, and Outage maintenance. You will provide expertise to support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities. Additionally, you will ensure a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools. The scope for this role is all mechanical work. Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Formula for Success Leveraging your education and work experience in petrochemical maintenance, you will partner with key stakeholders to develop goals for staff and execution teams which support department objectives. You will drive implementation, monitor effectiveness, and take necessary actions to meet objectives. Additionally, you will provide coaching and direction to ensure that the team successfully meets targets and track team performance for success (KPIs / Metrics). As a subject matter expert, you will coach the Daily Support Team (DST) and support mutually agreed upon development needs and training opportunities. Additionally, you will conduct job assignments considering developmental opportunities and train and coach employees for success. Demonstrating your years of proven leadership, you will manage personnel items including: discipline, conflict resolution, consistent enforcement of rules and policies, change management, and engaging in effective and clear communication. Your working knowledge of all maintenance crafts and a solid understanding of maintenance work processes will serve you well in this role as you facilitate the execution of maintenance work processes and activities and provide overall leadership and direction to crafts for the safe and effective execution of work. This includes routine, turnaround, and outage maintenance. Your commitment to workplace health and safety will be essential as you ensure the application of all safety rules, assuring Maintenance personnel are aware of and employing safe working practices and promoting safety programs and behaviors. Your strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills will be vital as you provide daily communications, via reports, oral, and written communication, on the status of maintenance in the area, including job status information, incident/safety topics, production area information, best practices and feedback. Driving the use of LEAN manufacturing tools, you will identify waste and drive continuous improvement to enhance the overall maintenance work process and improve cost effectiveness and efficiency. Additionally, you will share with other areas, communicate lessons learned, and ensure consistent use of best practices within maintenance execution. Utilizing your ability to deal effectively with the unknown and unexpected and possess the ability to handle non-routine and emergency activities, you will function as the repair expert for critical maintenance and provide expert direction and guidance to crafts on critical maintenance items, repairs, and tasks. Demonstrating your broad based, hands on knowledge and experience with various types of mechanical and/or instrument systems, you will perform first line troubleshooting, repair consultation, and support for crafts.
